The theme of the 2015 Beating Retreat, was "Remembering Waterloo" as it was the bi-centenary of the battle. The RSCDS had been contacted for some country dancers, from contacts in Oxfordshire and Oxford University branch got involved. However they contacted the London Branch, as they needed more dancers and ultimately some of the London Gay Gordons were invited, due to our close links with the London Branch.
We danced The Queens Quadrille, with the ladies in period costume and the gentlemen in approximate evening wear. we danced to the Pipes & drums of the 1st Bn. Scots Guards, The London Scottish Regiment and the Scots Guards Association (South) [SGA], who played teh Argyll Broadswords medley, in order to fit in with the highland dancers as well.
